Safety briefing by DOSH at Malaysian Timber Council (MTC)

At Teepham Medical Sdn. Bhd., we believe safety is paramount in all aspects of our work and daily lives.

We recently had the privilege of participating in a safety briefing conducted by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) at the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC). This experience was both enlightening and reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring the well-being of our employees and partners.

The DOSH Safety Briefing at the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) demonstrated the Malaysian government’s dedication to promoting safe and healthy working environments across industries. DOSH plays a crucial role in overseeing and enforcing safety standards, and we were honoured to be part of this essential briefing.

Here are some key takeaways and reflections from this invaluable safety briefing:

  1. Emphasizing Safety Culture: The DOSH safety briefing underscored the importance of fostering a safety culture within organizations. Safety is not just a set of regulations; it’s a mindset that should permeate every level of an organization. We were reminded that safety is everyone’s responsibility, starting with awareness and commitment.
  2. Compliance and Regulations: DOSH provided a comprehensive overview of safety regulations and compliance requirements. Understanding and adhering to these regulations is crucial for our employees’ well-being and our business’s success. We left the briefing with a heightened awareness of our obligations and responsibilities.
  3. Risk Assessment and Prevention: DOSH emphasized the significance of risk assessment and prevention in the workplace. Identifying potential hazards and taking proactive measures to prevent accidents and injuries is paramount. We were encouraged to integrate risk assessment into our daily operations and decision-making processes.
  4. Emergency Response Planning: Effective emergency response planning can significantly mitigate the impact of unforeseen incidents. The briefing highlighted the importance of having well-defined emergency procedures and ensuring employees are well-trained to respond appropriately in crises.
  5. Gratitude to DOSH and MTC: We sincerely thank DOSH and the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) for organizing and hosting this critical safety briefing. Their commitment to safety and their dedication to providing resources and guidance to organizations like ours are commendable.

In conclusion, our participation in the DOSH safety briefing at the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) was a significant reminder of the importance of safety in the workplace at Teepham Medical Sdn. Bhd., we recognize that our employees and partners’ safety and well-being are non-negotiable priorities.

As we move forward, we are inspired by the lessons learned during this briefing and remain committed to upholding the highest safety standards in our organization. We understand that safety is not just a requirement but a shared responsibility that we embrace wholeheartedly.

“I was given a chance to perform user training on AED. Never thought to deliver speech in front of a huge crowd like the way I used to be. They were having an occupational safety briefing by DOSH at Malaysian Timber Council (MTC). Felt like I’m part of the safety officer. But I assume they’re all excited on this machine since a lot of questions being asked. Kinda best experience to instill confidence on the stage. Also I was told AED is mandatory by 2025 to be installed inside the buildings.”
