The TOP endoscopic hood fits on the tip of an endoscope during endoscopic examination or treatment. This is the slit-and-hole type. It is made of PVC, is for single use, and comes in sizes for endoscopes of different outer diameters.
TOP says not to use it in patients with inflammatory bowel disease or a narrowing caused by a tumour, or for endoscopic aspiration mucosectomy (EAM) of the colon.
