The Riester ri-mini is a compact otoscope with a 2.5 V xenon lamp and fibre optics, which give a cool light close to daylight. Its magnifying lens (2.5 times) comes off so that instruments can be passed through the head.
The system is sealed for pneumatic otoscopy, and the casing is impact-resistant plastic reinforced with glass fibre. It runs on two AA batteries and comes in a case.
